The United States, amid its withdrawal from Niger, asked for the opening of a military base on the territory of Côte d’Ivoire. The publication Jeune Afrique wrote about this, citing its information.

According to available information, the base, in addition to military personnel, can accommodate the latest equipment, such as unmanned aerial vehicles.

The publication notes that the leadership of Côte d’Ivoire supports the plans of the American side.

It was previously reported that the authorities established in Niger after the coup that took place in July 2023 broke the military agreement with Washington.
