The sanctions target 135 oil tankers, which the West believes are part of Russia’s shadow fleet.

London announced new restrictions after Britain and the EU lowered the price ceiling for Russian oil from $60 to $47.6 per barrel, the Foreign Ministry noted.

The sanctions list also includes Kyrgyzstan’s Keremet Bank. Britain explains the restrictive measures against the bank by saying that it supported Russia by providing financial services.

Litasco Middle East DMCC, a Dubai-based trading division of LUKOIL, is also included. “Litasco Middle East DMCC benefits from or provides support to the Russian government by operating in a sector of strategic importance to the Russian government, namely the Russian energy sector,” the justification says. At the same time, London imposed sanctions against Intershipping Services LLC, which, according to a statement from the British government, is responsible for registering a shadow fleet under the Gabon flag in the interests of Russian exports. The Intershipping Services vessels, the press release notes, transport goods worth $10 billion a year.

Last week, it was reported that the 18th package of anti-Russian sanctions included restrictive measures against 105 oil tankers involved in the transportation of oil from Russia.
