Indian oil refiner Nayara Energy, partly owned by Russia and hit with sanctions, has replaced its CEO, media reports.

Amid mounting operational difficulties, the company has been appointed by industry veteran Teymur Abaskuliev, formerly CFO of SOCAR.

He will take up his duties in September.

Nayara’s former CEO Alessandro des Dorides resigned in July after the company was blacklisted by the EU as part of the latest round of sanctions against Russia.

Teymur Abasguliyev is currently the Vice Chairman at Petlim Limancilik Ticaret AS, Socar Turkey LNG Satis AS, and Socar Turkey Petrokimya AS.
He is also the Executive Director at Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS since 2022.
In addition, he has been the Chief Financial Officer at SOCAR Turkey Enerji.
AS since 2013.
Mr. Abasguliyev is a Member of the Association of Certified Public Accountants since 2002.
He graduated from Baku State University.
