The U.S. Department of Commerce has expanded sanctions to include 32 foreign companies, some of which were added due to their ties with organizations in Russia, according to the relevant document.

“In this order, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) amends the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by adding 32 organizations to the ‘Entity List.’ These entries include organizations in the following locations: People’s Republic of China (PRC) (23), India (1), Iran (1), Singapore (1), Taiwan (1), Turkey (3), and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (2). The U.S. government has determined that the activities of these organizations are contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States,” the document states.

For supplying “technology to end-users in the Russian military sector,” chip manufacturer Shanghai Fudan Microelectronics Co., Ltd. was added to the sanctions list; for attempting to transfer U.S.-origin goods to Russia — AR Sales Pvt Ltd. (India), as well as Atempo Proje Taahhüt Ses ve Görüntü Sistemleri Anonim Şirketi Istanbul Branch, EB Teknoloji Sistemleri Anonım Şirketi, and Dentun Elektronik (Turkey); and for exporting to Russia and Iran goods subject to export control — HAS General Trading (UAE).
