New sensational documents: ex-minister Huseingulu Bagirov laundered millions in Latvia
The business network of the family of the former Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Bagirov, which has covered many European countries with its web, covers another country. In addition to dozens of companies and luxury real estate in the UK, Germany, Austria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Turkey, the family of G. Bagirov, who, while serving as a minister, tried to present himself as the most unblemished member of the government, owns a large business in Latvia. Thus, information about the Bagirov family’s business is posted on Latvian state portals..

should be noted that the ex-minister’s huge business empire is managed by his son Latif Bagirov. British sources indicate that Latif Bagirov was born in 1979, is a citizen of Azerbaijan and lives in England as a holder of a business visa.
Thus, in the report of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (İNAA) on the economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia, the Bagirov family is listed as one of the largest Azerbaijani investors in Latvia.
The agency, referring to the business registers of Latvia (Lursoft), indicates that Huseyngulu Bagirov’s son Latif opened the companies Stamina Hospitality Services and NORDİC STAMİNA in this country. The first company is engaged in the hotel business and the provision of services for accommodating guests of Latvia, and the second company is engaged in renting out its own real estate and re-renting or leasing rented real estate.
Huseyngulu Bagirov’s family member Liana Bagirov is also on the list of Azerbaijani investors and is a shareholder in the above companies

It should be noted that Stamina Hospitality Services is a subsidiary of STAMINA INVESTMENTS LIMITED, registered in London in March 2015 in the name of the ex-minister’s daughter Sevinj Baghirova. Journalist Javanshir Gasanli’s investigation stated that the company received a registration certificate under number 9471905. The address of this company was 85-87, Borough High Street. With the help of this company, the Baghirovs acquired several properties in London and closed it in 2016. All this gives grounds for suspicion that the Baghirovs created the company to launder dirty money.

The Latvian business register lists the ex-minister’s daughter Sevinj Baghirova and his cousin Aliya Nuriyeva as investors in this company.
The authorized capital of Stamina Hospitality Services is 145 thousand 129 euros. The company was registered in 2102. The company’s mailing address is: Aleksandra Čaka iela 24 – 6, Rīga, LV-1011. According to other sources, the company’s office is located at: Caunes 15, Riga, LV-1006, Latvia.
According to the Agency’s report, another representative of the Bagirov clan, the ex-minister’s sister Duria Nuriyeva, also has assets in Latvia. She is the owner of shares in the company Nordfields Investments. Under the brand “Nordfields”, the Bagirovs have registered three companies in the UK: NORDFIELDS MANAGEMENT LIMITED, NORDFIELDS HOSPITALITIES LTD, NORDFIELDS INVESTMENTS LIMITED.
The mailing addresses of the Bagirovs’ companies in Latvia – Stamina Hospitality Services and NORDİC STAMİNA – are the same. However, the authorized capital of NORDİC STAMİNA is only 2,845 euros. The company was registered on March 23, 2011.
It should be noted that several years ago it was reported that the Latvian bank Parex Banka was involved in laundering money from a number of former Soviet republics, including Azerbaijan. As a result, the European Central Bank revoked the license of the Latvian bank. The company of this bank operated in Baku and provided financial and leasing services. Apparently, the traces of the former minister Huseyngulu Bagirov should also be sought in the scheme of cooling off the money.
The former minister Huseyngulu Bagirov himself recently gave an interview to one of the local media outlets, in which he spoke about the intricacies of the minister’s work and the reasons for his dismissal from this position.
“I can say one thing – this is a life full of stress. I had health problems. I turned to the country’s leadership, and Mr. President responded to my appeal. For which I am very grateful to him,” the former minister said.
The former minister of ecology and natural resources is right, indeed, this is a life full of stress…
