The deputy head of Musavat, Faraj Karimli, whose trial is currently ongoing, spoke about the reasons for his arrest in his testimony to the court investigation. F. Karimli said that he carried out the propaganda activities of the Musavat Party on social networks. At the same time, he said that his former party member Tural Sadigli played a role in his arrest.

Quote: “Since I carried out my activities under a pseudonym (Turan Türk), they could not identify me. In prison, I learned that they were able to arrest me by “exposing” me through Tural Sadigli, who was introduced to the Musavat youth organization by the special services and is now in Germany…”

F. Karimli said that during the investigation, the investigator asked him about the activities of the Musavat Party, including his relations with Isa Gambar and Arif Hajili, and asked him to intervene in the musavat.com website.

It should be noted that Tural Sadigli, who is currently in exile in Germany, commented on F. Karimli’s accusations. T. Sadigli admitted in a statement published on his Facebook profile that there was a coldness between him and F. Karimov. He also admitted that he revealed the name of the real owner of the Turan Türk profile on the social network, namely Faraj Karimli: “So, when I was forced to come to Germany in March of last year, several Musavat supporters who had personal grievances with me and several other Musavat supporters who did not take my side wrote insulting statuses and opened discussions about me on the Facebook social network. Among them was Faraj Karimov, who is currently in prison and who today wrote about me that “the special services were able to arrest me by “exposing” me through Tural Sadigli, who is now in Germany.” Faraj Karimov was using the Turan Türk profile at that time. In response, I addressed those who insulted me by writing their names, and I gave my answers in a manner worthy of my name, without swearing or insulting.”

T.Sadigli noted that he appealed to the Musavat Party Council to take action against those who attacked him and succeeded in getting these individuals reprimanded. According to him, 4 months after this incident, Faraj Karimli and his brother Siraj were arrested, and a few months later he resigned from the party protesting election fraud. Then T.Sadigli listed several points as counterarguments to F.Kerimli’s claim.

1) The Turan Türk profile was not a hidden profile. Sometimes there were photos of Faraj Karimov himself tagged there. In other words, if this profile caused concern for the Azerbaijani authorities and the Ministry of National Security was interested in finding this profile, it would not be a difficult task. If there are photos of the person who used the profile on a profile, where did it become a hidden profile?!

2) Faraj Karimov was arrested 4 months after the incident in which they insulted me and received their answers. Is the Azerbaijani National Security Service so weak that it would find and arrest a person whose name is known in such a small matter?!

3) If the special services placed me in the Musavat Party and I am fulfilling my “function” and exposing someone, I will secretly pass this information to the special services, why should I openly write someone’s name and surname, try to embarrass them?! What business does the Musavat Party have with the special services, since it has been turned into a sick person. Its illness is obvious.

4) Why has Faraj Karimov himself not made such a statement in the press so far, and only in court, that is, after being declared an enemy of the Musavat Party, is such a smear campaign being conducted at the party level against me?!

5) The goal is for the Musavat Party to continue its smear campaign against me, my family, and anyone who criticizes it, along with the government. It is simply shameful!!!

We contacted the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding another address accused by Faraj Karimli. They said that a statement on this issue would be issued by the end of the day.
