This is the second tanker in less than two weeks to deliver LNG to China from the sanctioned Russian Arctic LNG 2 project. On Saturday, the Voskhod vessel docked at the Beihai LNG terminal in southern China, Bloomberg reports, citing vessel traffic data.

Recall that at the end of August, the Arctic Mulan gas carrier delivered a batch of LNG from a floating storage facility in eastern Russia, produced at Arctic LNG 2. This was the first time that fuel from a sanctioned plant was delivered to a foreign buyer.

At least three more LNG carriers loaded from Arctic LNG 2 are currently heading to China, Bloomberg reports, citing vessel traffic data. The agency’s analysts believe that the delivery of these shipments may take longer, as ice is gradually accumulating on the Northern Sea Route.
